Hope Community Development Initiative – Uganda (HOCODI) is a grassroots organization dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities in Kasese District through education, economic empowerment, and human rights advocacy since 2015.
Years of Service
HOCODI was envisioned in May 2014 and officially established in January 2015 by key community members who identified a gradual diminishing of hope among young people, persons with disabilities, single and child mothers, and marginalized groups in the Rwenzori Region.
Operating from Kasese District, Western Uganda, we deliver sustainable programs in education, economic empowerment, nutrition, reproductive health, counseling, and human rights — working toward a transformed community by 2030.
Guided by love, transparency, and a God-fearing spirit, we stand for unity and human dignity — coordinating with local and international stakeholders to bring lasting change.
To support and promote participation of physically challenged people, their guardians, and young mothers in activities strategically focused on empowering educational programs, reducing school dropouts, and promoting economically sustainable improved livelihoods in Kasese and the Rwenzori Region by 2030.
An empowered, hopeful community able to meet her basic needs — where every individual, regardless of gender, ability, or circumstance, has access to opportunities that allow them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society and to one another.
Everything we do is purposeful. These pillars drive our community transformation work across Kasese and the Rwenzori Region.
Restoring hope for families in abject poverty by initiating sustainable income-generating activities and economic programs.
Promoting programs to eradicate violence against disadvantaged groups, women, and youth for improved livelihoods.
Restoring hope among female youth and child mothers, encouraging self-reliance of widows, disabled persons, and young mothers.
Reducing school dropouts — especially girls and the physically challenged — throughout the Rwenzori Region.
Sustaining a 10% reduction in child stunting from 49.6% baseline in Kasese District and neighboring areas by 2030.
Increasing access to quality sexual rights information, services, and human rights awareness throughout the Rwenzori Region.
Six transformative program areas targeting the root causes of vulnerability and building pathways to sustainable community hope.
Stories, articles, and updates from our work in the Rwenzori Region.
Real moments from real communities — the faces of hope, resilience, and transformation across the Rwenzori Region.
A grassroots organization born from community need, committed to dignity and sustainable hope.
