Restoring Hope Where It Was Lost

HOCODI was envisioned in May 2014 and officially established in January 2015 by key community members who identified a gradual diminishing of hope among young people, persons with disabilities, single and child mothers, and marginalized groups in the Rwenzori Region.

Operating from Kasese District, Western Uganda, we deliver sustainable programs in education, economic empowerment, nutrition, reproductive health, counseling, and human rights — working toward a transformed community by 2030.

Guided by love, transparency, and a God-fearing spirit, we stand for unity and human dignity — coordinating with local and international stakeholders to bring lasting change.

Our Background

Hope Community Development Initiative – Uganda (HOCODI) is a grassroots organization conceived in May 2014 and formally established in January 2015. It was founded by key community members who observed a gradual diminishing of community hope among young people, the physically challenged, single and child mothers, and the marginalized, neglected, needy and poor people in the Rwenzori Region of Uganda.

HOCODI offices are located in Kasese District, with additional offices and a training centre in Kanyatsi Village, Kacungiro Parish, Munkunyu Sub County, Kasese District, Western Uganda. The organization operates across Sub Counties and Local Communities within Kasese District as a legal institution under democratic principles and the supremacy of the general assembly.

The organization works with young mothers, single mothers and widows, school dropouts, physically challenged people (PWDs), in-school youth, and needy children (OVCs) — delivering services from education scholarships to water wells and rural shelter projects.
